Diatonic Structure

- Use notes from chords to create the basis of your melody
- Use chords in a key to form the basis of your chord progression
- Use off time signatures at syncopation in your melodic rhythm to create unease/uncertainty
- Use chords in a key, notes that ailgn with your chords and a rhythm that lands on the beats to create safe/certain feel
- Even lyric phrases for a certain feel. Leave phrases short to create uncertainty
- Use rhyme for certainty. Don't rhyme for uncertainty
- Use major chords for a happy, minor for sad
- Use ascends melody for happy, descending for sad (same for phrases)
